| Sensorimotor Psychotherapy | Sensorimotor Psychotherapy (SP) is a body-centered, mindfulness-based, experiential psychotherapy especially suited for people who are experiencing the effects of past traumatic events and for those seeking resolution to chronic problematic ways of being. Difficulty sleeping, inability to relax, chronic tension, and emotional reactivity are but some indicators one may be experiencing the effects of past trauma. Difficulty navigating relationships, regulating one’s energy, feeling comfortable with one’s self, or simply longing for a deeper, more fulfilling, more satisfying day to day experience may be indications of significant unresolved past experiences. SP is a collaborative psychotherapy that gives attention to the body’s experience as well as the mind and emotions to help the client explore, process and integrate their experiences while in mindfulness. This allows for deep, lasting, and embodied change. Clients can bring current life struggles, past painful events, or simply a wanting for more satisfaction in life and will find from an SP therapist a safe, supportive, and inviting context to be with, work through and find resolution to past traumas and current unintegrated experiences. Practitioners: Julie Rappaport, Kevin Brown
